Gomel Architectural Community

In recent years significantly increased the demand for specialists in the field of design and design systems. Which is not surprising, because applications and system becoming more complicated. Team size and teams involved in one project grows. Business (customer) wants low-cost solutions and fast. With this we all have to face the Software Solutions Architect (Solution Architect or abbreviated SA). Our industry, though young, but already has many ready-made solutions, ranging from libraries and frameworks to the approaches, practices and patterns.

On each project we accept a large number of solutions, the correctness of which depends the success of the project. All of these questions answers Solution Architect.

Java or .Net or Python or maybe PHP? React or Angular (first or second)? To take an existing library/framework or write your own? What library/framework to choose for my needs? REST or SOAP? RDBMS or NoSQL? But if NoSQL, then which one? How to ensure the required load? Will the solution scale? How to make the year a team of 50 people? How are we going to integrate with third party system? But if it is unstable, as we will provide the characteristics necessary to us?

Questions and answers hundreds. Some critical for the project, some less important. But one thing is clear: in today's world it is very difficult to make decisions based only on your experience. To cover the gaps in knowledge we learn, read books, blogs, conference, visited, studied turnkey solutions, communicate with colleagues, friends, like-minded people and share experiences.

Gomel Architectural Community

The most difficult thing is often to understand what to teach, read, what conferences are useful. Where to find colleagues and associates with whom one will be able to share the experience?

People who know me personally, I remember how 3 years ago I was finding myself, looking for like-minded people, looking for a way to stay technical and not become the next Manager (although, as an architect, I benefited greatly from the experience of the leader and Manager). Searched, searched and searched but eventually found my way. Way into Architecture.

Now I want to simplify the search like me, people who have outgrown developer and want more. But, like me, wants to continue to code, explore technology, to be on the cutting edge of technology. To do this, I create Architectural Community, which will help you to understand what is architecture. During the meetings community, we will share their experience and to tell who is an Architect and how to become one. I learned a lot and learned a lot over the years. I want to share with you during meetings and talks.

the

As I see it

I must say that the experience of organization of such communities outside the company I have. I rely on the experience of others, their own feelings (what I'd like to see), and Team, which helps me to organize it all. We will, as they say, Agile. So expect experiments, collecting feedback, new experiments and again the polls...

Community, is first and foremost a people, like-minded people. Therefore, the first task of such people to gather and meet each other. To solve ideal social network. So by group Facebook.

Second, it General. The purpose of the Architectural Community to share knowledge and experience, to grow and become more successful. To do this, the group/tape we will share thoughts, experiences, advise good books and articles, ask questions that interest us.

And the third. In order not to lose communications, we will periodically to meet in the living. As practice shows, the Internet Internet, but it is much easier to communicate when you met the person personally. We plan to meet every 2-3 months.
the

the First meeting of the Community

The first meeting will be held in late November, in an informal setting, the evening after work, one of anticafe/anticipatation Gomel. We don't want a large audience is not a conference. It is rather a club. Will people 30. I will invite personally.

The session duration will be 3 hours. Topics and speakers for the first meeting has already been selected. All papers will be 3, for 45 and 15 minutes for questions, comments. Details about the topics I will cover in a separate post (the current is already incredibly bloated, IMHO).

If you want to participate, please contact me: andrei.kavaleu@gmail.com. Be sure to tell us about yourself: who you are, what you do and how connected with architecture.

the

the Architects of all countries Unite!

In General, if you are interested in Architecture, if you want to find like-minded people and start conversations on topics that interest you, if you want to share your knowledge, learn something new, just have a good time...
If you know how to answer the questions in the beginning of this article — come to us if you don't know how much more to come.

Let's unite the Architects of Gomel! And not only of Gomel.

What we can already do now? Go to our community, follow the news, ask questions, learn about upcoming events. Please mail me the desire to participate in the Community.

the

Poll: a platform for community

I still have one unresolved issue: what platform to choose for the community?

Requirements:

the
    the
  • the ability to communicate, share experiences, announce events;
  • the
  • easy access to the community for participants as well as the merely interested;
  • the
  • ease of maintenance to my team and I could concentrate on the community and not to waste time on administration.

Under the rst and last conditions are perfect social networks. On the other hand Facebook and LinkedIn require registration to view content (I, for example, until this week was not on Facebook, and restrictions on the length of the message in LinkedIn depressing). Own site/area does not fit the last criterion.

In General, I hope for your help in site selection. Interested in the opinion of all, not only Gomel. (Facebook is a workaround)
